Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

After some disruptions I have been catching up with my Maya lessons, this time learning about particles. It's an awesome and useful part of this program that I can use to do a lot of realistic effects in an easy way. And the best of it is that not only you can use it for 3D animations, but also for excporting into flash animations for a more attractive look!!!

Do you use Maya for animations or illustrations?
Do you have any tips to share? I am like a white paper sheet right now.

Feel free to sharing your experience with it.

Tengo entendido que Maya y Max son los más intuitivos. Softimage no..Pero tal vez sea cosa de costumbre. Yo usé muy poco de Maya y más de Max. Como Max estaba más orientada a juegos y todo eso me hice muy amiga de él

Y no es necesario abandonar el 2D.
Lo que yo hago para incentivarme cuando me siento frustrada es ver videos, películas, juegos hechos en 3D. Recarga las pilas!

I had a crash course to navigate for a little bit for one project that i worked on(but for texturing only). But I've used 3d max the most. I find Maya really easy to get lost in the interface.

Really? The first time I wanted to learn 3D, (many years ago, XD) it was with 3DMax. And I remember how frustrated I felt due to the interface. Maybe this time will be easier because the teacher is my partner.
